News - 3 Students Win SSACAB-DELTAS 2017 Scholarship Awards

The Biostatistics programme would like to congratulate its 3 students from 2016 Intake for winning the DELTAS scholarships awards recently. The students are Danger Masangwi, Victor Chikwapulo, and Hastings Mtawali. The SSACAB-DELTAS programme is a consortium of many institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa and Western partners whose sole purpose is to train biostatisticians in Africa. It is funded by WellCome Trust, UK.

This is the second phase of SSACAB-DELTAS scholarship awards after the first one saw 4 candidates from Malawi awarded the scholarships. The 2017 DELTAS scholarship spaces were tightly contested as 13 applicants vied for the Malawi spaces and these three students won the spaces after passing the meritorious assessment criteria set by the University of Malawi.

We would like to thank all candidates for expressing interest in the DELTAS scholarships and we encourage all those whose chance was not this year to try their luck in the next academic year. Above all, we shower our hertfelt congratulations to Danger, Victor and Hastings for making it. We wish you all the successes as you undertake your studies under the SSACAB-DELTAS consortium project.
