The Department of Mathematical Sciences, Chancellor College, University of Malawi has been running a very successful Masters of Science in Biostatistics programme since 2010. We pride ourselves with offering an unparallel and highly competitive programme of its kind in the region. The testimonies of our success come from peers, external examiners on our programme and a number of former students who are now undertaking PhD studies in the African and United Kingdom Universities. Indeed, most have rated our MSc programme the strongest in the African region in terms of the faculty, curriculum and calibre and quality of graduates it has produced, most of whom are working in the larger fields of biostatistics application. As a Department, we are not taking these positive appreciations and acknowledgements lightly but it enhances our capacity and resources to sustain or even aim higher in our training and scholarships.

The team, in pics, behind the running of the programme comprises Prof. Samuel Manda, Prof. Lawrence Kazembe, Prof. Adamson Muula, Prof. Charles Chasela, Assoc. Prof. Jimmy Namangale, Dr. Sarah White, Dr. Mavuto Mukaka, Dr. Jupiter Simbeye, Dr. Bagrey Ngwira, Dr. Benjamin Kaneka, Dr. Levis Eneya, Mr. Milward Maliyoni, Mr. Gregory Kunyenje, Mr. Tsirizani Kaombe, Mr. Emmanuel Souza, and Mr. James Kaphuka. The imprementation is being monitored by an elected Coordinator, Head of Department, Secretary, Messenger, and ICT Technician.
